Mission Statement: (See Web Site For Updated Information)

Each hospice patient volunteer visitor assignment is unique, geared to meet the needs of the individual hospice patient or their family. Assignments may include a weekly, friendly visit for emotional support and/or companionship in patients home or in a facility. Volunteers write letters, read, play music or games, do a hobby, watch TV or lend a listening ear or sit with the patient while the family member gets out or attends to their personal needs. A medical background/experience is not required as volunteers do not provide ANY personal or physical care of the patient. Volunteers designate the communities they will cover as VistaCare offers services in many areas in Eastern MA. Information is provided about what the patient/family requires, then volunteers can accept or decline the assignment.
